SOAK IT – India’s first prewash antifungal solution

Description

A parallel initiative along with antifungal therapy to curb the spread of Tinea infections within the family /caregiver of the infected person.

The prevalence of superficial mycotic infection worldwide is 20–25% of which dermatophytes are the most common agents. There is an increasing prevalence of cutaneous dermatophytosis across the world and in India too, and the common pathogenic dermatophyte are Trichophyton rubrum that continues to be the most common isolate with tinea corporis and cruris the most common clinical presentation Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Microsporum audouinii are the other two pathogenic dermatophytes responsible for the increasing cases of Tinea infections.

Need for an Antifungal Solution so as to eradicate the microscopic remnants that are present on the surface of the fabric/linen as these microscopic pathogenic dermatophytes if not treated chemically, can stay on the surface for 26+ days depending upon the type of fabric and can be the cause of further spread of the infections.

SOAK IT is a combination of Cetrimide and chlorhexidine specially developed to eradicate the remnants of the pathogenic dermatophytes that remain of the fabric of the clothes and the major reason for recurrence, re-infection, cross infection and spread within the family.

Therapeutic indications

SOAK IT is commonly sold as an Antifungal liquid. It is used for cleansing and prevention of infection transmitted by fungal isolates (remnants) 

Directions for Use:

To be used as recommended by the prescribing doctor as a pre wash anti-fungal solution

The primary use is targeted to disinfection of the clothes of the person infected with Tinea infection, where the clothes have the scrapings of fungal isolates or fungal remnants

The process is to simply soak the infected Clothes in 20 litres (approx. 4 garments) separately in a bucket of water

Add 10ml of solution in a bucket and after 30 minutes, take out the clothes and rinse the water and put the clothes in the washing machine for a regular wash and dry clothes in warm dry air/sunlight.

Special warnings and precautions for use

• For external use only.
• Avoid contact with the eyes, middle ear, meninges and other nervous tissue.
• If accidentally splashed into the eye, the open eye should be irrigated for at least 10 minutes.
• Keep away from children.

Effects on ability to cause damage or alter the functional use of washing machines (for clothes)
SOAK IT liquid has no influence on the ability to cause corrosion, damage or alter the operation of washing machines used for washing of the clothes.
